    Grief and Loss Counseling

Bereavement and grief aren’t light-hearted topics. Bereavement refers to the process of recovering from the death of a loved one, and grief is a reaction for any form of loss. Both encompass a wide range of emotions such as fear, anger and deep, deep sadness.

The process of adapting to a loss can dramatically change from person to person, depending on his or her background, beliefs, relationship to the person who’s passed, and other factors.

If you are experiencing grief-related thoughts, behaviors, or feelings that are distressing, you do not have to go through grief alone.

The Grief Recovery Method® is the most comprehensive Grief education you will find. People come to the program because their lives have been devastated by personal loss. The GRM is just that – a method – a step by step process – an “action program” – for unlocking and respecting the emotional experience of our grief – both the immediate or presenting grief issues – and those that may have been holding us captive for years.  Often, the most recent or presenting loss is actually made more difficult by related experiences from our past which were not recognized or addressed at the time – adding weight to that resulting from the current loss.

The Grief Recovery Method® One on One

This format uses the same principles as the group program but is geared towards individuals. This format allows you to spend more time working on specific topics on a one-on-one basis with the Grief Recovery Specialist.

The Grief Recovery Method® for Groups

Group sessions are the most sought after way to complete the program. This program has been tested for 35 years and has helped millions of people. You will go through an 8-week Grief Recovery Method® program guided by your Grief Recovery Specialist. It covers an evidence-based curriculum that involves homework and participation. This is a closed group format to create a safe environment for sharing. All 8 sessions must be attended to create maximum benefit.
