Michele Knecht, LCSW

Accepting New Clients!
Hi, I’m Michele, a therapist who believes that healing doesn’t have to feel like homework- and yes, laughter is allowed (and encouraged) in session. I believe healing works best with equal parts compassion, curiosity, and humor. Therapy with me isn’t just talking about feelings (though we’ll do that too); it’s a collaborative, active process where we get serious about helping you live the life you actually want- with a few laughs along the way.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). That means we’ll work together to challenge unhelpful thoughts, build real motivation for change, and find meaningful ways to live in line with your values- even when life gets complicated.
Therapy with me is collaborative, active, and geared toward helping you feel less stuck and more empowered. I’m deeply committed to creating an inclusive, affirming space, especially for the LGTBQ+ individuals. Whoever you are, however you show up, you’re welcome here- no explanations required.
Compassion is at the heart of everything I do, but I’ll also meet you with humor, real talk, and the occasional bad pun (you’ve been warned). Therapy doesn’t have to be a solemn march through your problems- sometimes it’s messy, funny, meaningful conversation that gets you to a better place.
